Gen Zs in India do not want to wear Crocs or Havaianas. They want something local and speaks to them.

From being a niche overlooked category when DSGCP launched in 2012, #insurgentbrands are now popping up non-stop with nearly 2 online-only brands raising funds every week on average.

One of the pioneer VCs backing #insurgentbrands, Kanwal Singh of Fireside speaks to Mint on the broader opportunity as new Indian brands take on the giants.

Wellness is a HUGE focus area for us at DSGCP with sleep being a core anchor, hence our investment in Sleepy Cat. With tech now allowing consumers to learn about their sleep and optimise, the sector will continue to grow. Thing Oura & Whoop. Very interesting to see the 1st fund focusing on everything sleep-related.
